Kinda Armchair

A high-backed armchair carved from a single block of mongongo in the Makonde style, upholstered for daily use. Tens of interlinked figures climb the frame, a carved account of community and everyday life. Made by a team of seven over more than twelve months, led by the late master carver Fharasisi Amblosi. Height 165 cm · width 75 cm · 80 kg.
